Neil Young releases global warming video 18 August 06

News just in: the musician Neil Young has released a song and video inspired by Al Gore’s excellent movie ‘An Inconvenient Truth’. I’ve not really listened to much Neil Young stuff after ‘Harvest Moon’ and ‘After the Goldrush’, but this latest song is moving and very catchy – particularly with the video showing clips from the Gore film. It’s called ‘After the Garden’, and is the latest offering from Young’s anti-Bush ‘Living with War’ album. Catch it here.

I am ashamed to say that I hadn’t realised the song from the brilliant album was about global warming. It now makes sense. Really works well with LWW aping CNN. His recent album, Greendale, is a concept album about America and the environment and is also very good.

Other Neil Young albums worth checking out 0 Zuma, Live Rust, Rust Never Sleeps, Freedom, Ragged Glory.
