Bush video address on global warming 10 May 06
OK, so it’s a spoof. And some of you spam-aholics have probably already got the email. It reminds me of Jon Stewart’s witty Bush line: “The ice-caps aren’t melting, the water in them is being liberated!” A must-see, courtesy of Transbuddha.com, here’s Will Ferrell impersonating Bush on global warming.

But I am having a small outbreak of Paranoia here! Dan, I have tried to e-mail you a couple of links to web-sites that I thought might be of interest, but everytime I include a reference to them in an e-mail your ISP tells me that it’s rejected them. Now this may of course be entirely co-incidental, but one starts to imagine the Exxon/Neocon idealogical firewall alert kicking-in.
A FREE daily climate change news e-bulletin for all those on this site who are interested in matters GW can be easily subscribed to at: http://www.climatewire.org/. This will give you news and opinion across the globe. It’s fascinating to see the different perspectives on this subject worldwide. I’m sure Mark will endorse this one.
On a separate, but not unrelated matter, I was was also advised by a colleague to type three words into google: ‘Loose’ ‘Change’ and ‘2’ and follow the link to watch the movie. I did and found it very disturbing. Lynn may find her epithet ‘Devoils’ sprining to mind here. Now I am sceptical about conspiracy theories, whilst they can be exciting, they are often so full of hype, guesswork and selective reporting of the evidence as to be meaningless. But there was so much in this account that contradicts the official version of events that it at least deserves to be debated and examined properly. I’ll say no more, but leave it to those of you with an open mind to see what you think, and do your own follow-ups on the net via google.
And, if you don’t hear from me again, then just because I am paranoid, it means they obviously still were out to get me!!
best wishes to all
Colin

Hopefully the Panorama programme will be good. I don’t think I’ll watch all of the other programs – but it’s good that the Beeb are doing something to increase public awareness.

I asked, a long way below, where the US insurance industry was on understanding global warming.
Looks like they “got it” eventually. See this interview with “Tim Wagner, Nebraska Insurance Commissioner and Director of the US National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) (he) speaks about the recent unanimous decision to establish a task force on climate change … ” from The Climate Group here http://www.theclimategroup.org/index.php?pid=568
One concern seems to be hailstone damage to automobiles which made me chuckle!
