Meet Tom Lynas everyone – our baby boy, born on Friday night at the John Radcliffe hospital here in Oxford. Isn’t he gorgeous? We’re all happier than I ever thought possible. He’s also the reason why this blog might be a little less active in the next week or so ;-) Perhaps Will can sort something out so that everyone can post news items rather than just me. Anyway, must get back to the hospital (Maria had an emergency caesarean after a 24-hour labour, so she’s in for a few more days) – I’ll be more in touch soon!

Message to Tom, no hurry, but when you are a bit older, could you sort out the Global Warming issue for us older folks?

Make the most of them when they’re small, they don’t stay that way for long! It makes one all the more determined to leave a worthwhile future to all our children.
I suppose we shall now see lots more posts from you at 3.00am whilst doing the paternal night-shift! (The end of sleep for a while)

Congratulations Mark and to your wife. Don`t believe all the stories of getting only 2 hours sleep a night; we were getting at least 3!

A baby is cuddles and tickles on toes, the sweet scent of powder, a kiss on the nose! A baby is teddy bears, rattles, and pins, meals at midnight…giggles and grins.
