Fox News: the O'Reilly Factor - judge for yourself 11 June 04
I’ve just got hold of a transcript of my recent appearance on Fox News’ show The O’Reilly Factor. Highlights include Becky Dunlop’s (she’s from the nutty right-wing Heritage Foundation) suggestion that US government funding should be removed from scientists who believe in global warming, and host John Kasich’s bizarre religous rantings (aimed at me) at the end of the piece. If anyone can make any sense out of it, please do let me know! Read transcript here.

It’s difficult keeping your sanity when you start to get involved in the “individualistic” & “Christian” elements of American politics.
A few years ago I was involved in an initiative to promote the United Nations and came across the Heritage Foundation as our prime opponent. They were very keen to get the US out of the UN.
Clearly your discussion partners had axes to grind, which seemed to inhibit sensible discussion ..

Thanks for the link – at first sight it looked like more bonkers right-wing stuff, but Kasich’s record is actually more balanced than I’d expected. I mean the guy actually CUT military programmes… unheard of for a Republican! See http://www.newcenturyproject.org/about/about_accomplishments.html

Hmmm, maybe I have misjudged the chap. It looks like he is doing some good stuff – such as the Debt Relief for Developing Nations in return for protecting rainforests.
