‘Climate of fear’ surrounds US science 19 February 04

American scientists are finding it increasingly difficult to conduct vital research into global warming, according to my friend Diana Liverman, writing in today’s Guardian. This revelation comes on the same day as a landmark report from the Union of Concerned Scientists, which accuses the Bush administration of distorting science in order to bolster its anti-environmental policies.
